How do I prepare for my first Brazilian wax?
The Brazilian wax has been increasing in popularity in recent years. This is because it provides a much smoother finish than a traditional bikini wax. If you are thinking of getting a Brazilian wax, there are a few things you should know in order to make sure the experience is as smooth as possible - both literally and figuratively.
Before your appointment, it is important to make sure that the area to be waxed is clean and free of any oils or lotions. These can interfere with the wax and make it less effective. You should also avoid sun exposure and tanning prior to your appointment, as this can make the skin more sensitive.
When you arrive for your appointment, the first thing your waxer will do is assess the hair growth. If the hair is too short, it will be difficult to remove. If the hair is too long, it can be more painful. Ideally, the hair should be about ¼ inch long.
Your waxer will then begin the process of applying the wax. This is usually done with a wooden spatula, and the wax is applied in the direction of hair growth. For soft wax, once it is applied, a strip of cloth or paper is placed over top and pressed down firmly. For hard wax, no removal strip is needed. The hard wax or strip is then quickly pulled off in the opposite direction of hair growth.
This process is repeated until all of the hair has been removed. Once the waxing is complete, your waxer will likely apply a soothing lotion or cream to the area.
There are a few things you can do to make sure your Brazilian wax goes as smoothly as possible. First, make sure the area to be waxed is clean and free of any oils or lotions. Second, avoid sun exposure and tanning prior to your appointment. And finally, when you arrive for your appointment, let your waxer know if you have any concerns or questions.
